At, in, on – prepositions of place

In English, prepositions of place at, in, and on help us describe the location of objects or people. Here’s a simple guide on how to use each one correctly:

1. At

At is used for specific points or places. Examples:

  • at the bus stop
  • at the door
  • at the office

Example: She is waiting at the bus stop.

2. In

In is used for enclosed spaces or areas. Examples:

  • in the room
  • in the car
  • in the park

Example: The kids are playing in the park.

3. On

On is used for surfaces or flat areas. Examples:

  • on the table
  • on the wall
  • on the floor

Example: The book is on the table.
